The best thing (and perhaps the only thing) about winter is boot shopping.  Every year our designer divas wrap our little piggies in the yummiest of materials like fur lining, rich suede or warm leather that goes all the way up that calf and keeps them toasty in the biting chill!  Check out this seasons honeys below, and don’t forget, Dec 25 will be here before you know it and I wear size 10. 

The shortest a boot can be and still be a boot is the booty, and every complete bootdrobe needs at least one selection from each height range, so Let’s start at the bottom.  For the shorty short, these Gucci’s make me Giddy!

The mid calf is a very difficult height to design and pull off.  If the cut is off it is the fastest way to make your calf look like tree stumps.  These will be sure to slender them up and bring the sexy back!

I dont think there is anything I can write about this boot that the picture doesnt say for itself.  I would easily fork out the 2 grand for ownership, in fact I would be inclined to build an add on room to my walk in so they could stretch out.  I would brush them, and pet them, and take them out for romantic walks in the moonlight.  I would love them and touch them and kiss them, and when no one is looking I might consider making love to them.  Oh hell, who am I kidding.  I wouldn’t care if anyone was looking. 

Extra Coolness Factor (ECF):  These babies are put out by canadian fashion brothers DSquarred of which I’m a big fan.  I peeked at the whole fall line up recently and, yes, it speaks to me with a very updated Labrynth David Bowie kind of feel that makes me want to call out on the Goblin King.

Japanese fashion designer h. Naoto decided to show for the 5 day long Japanese Fashion Week in Tokyo and in doing so he brought the Begoth Dolls to the catwalk.  I for one am uber pleased at such a delicious line! Delightfully so was the rest of the world, and the critics took notice. 

Naoto Hirooka launched his Goth Lolita laced brand “h. Naoto” in 2000 and has fans such as Marilyn Manson and Amy Lee, in fact, H. Naoto created a dress worn by Amy Lee of Evanescence at the 2004 Grammy Awards and has also designed costumes for the band Ayabie.

The exchange rate, incidentaly is about one US dollar to 114.626 yen, which makes these delicacies quite affordable.  Of course, the begothish bridal from the show might cost you a few million yen and a catfight with Sally or the corpse bride.

Not that it concerns me in the least, but in this post I am determined to introduce the possibility that I may not be the shallow dumb blond that I might, from time to time, appear to be.   Not that I think that my cybersona requires intellectual padding, but rather I would like illustrate that part of my love of fashion goes beyond the aesthetics of shapely shoes and shiny bobbles.  It is also the grace, the prestigious respect, and the world of the extravagant, over the top, eccentricities of the vain.   I am convinced that Dante took excellent dictation, and while some cardinal seven fearin folk may interpret pride as vanity, it is definitely not a sin.  Furthermore, I wanted to throughout some fashion factoids to justify things like spending $978.95 on an amazing pair of Guiuseppe Zanottis. 

A common misnomer, Haute Couture is not some casual reference that can be thrown on any pret-a-porter (ready to wear) item simply because you will it to be so, nor do clothes or shoes become Haute Couture when they travel down the cat.  The term is actually legally protected in France, by the Chambre de commerce et d’industrie de Paris. Each year the prestigious list is drawn with the names of the chosen companies that are allowed to consider themselves as Haute Couture or to use the term in any reference whatsoever!  According to the rules, to become a house of Haute Couture you must design made to order fashions for private clients with one or more fittings, have a workshop in Paris with at least 15 employees, and each season are required to present a collection to the Paris press consisting of a minimum of 35 runs with both day and evening wear!  I can imagine it!  The atelier elders stand after days of serious deliberation, all proper considerations met, and the fragile gold encrusted scroll is opened as the house names are called out as if being knighted!  If that doesn’t titillate you, then, well you’re dead!
